Paddling Hamster

Phew ....sorry it's taken SOOOO long to put the pics up but I realise now there is a bug from Picasa and the "blog this" button ...ug ....just figured it out......

Anyway....... here are some photos of Chris and me on our kayak trip to Sechelt Inlet.

It was a fabulous weekend weather wise and a good time was had by all. The great thing about kayak camping is that you don't have to carry your tent food etc etc .You ar e able to pack a LOT of stuff into that seemingly thin and fragile boat. Hence we had luxuries like wine, fresh (made at camp) chocolate brownies and peach cobbler, steak and potatoes. All of the food and menus were arranged (and mostly cooked) by Chris . Even a table and chairs to sit at . Very civilized !!! We were the envy of the 2 other groups camped out I can tell you ..when the aroma of hot chocolate cake was wafting by. Luckily it didn't attract the bear that had been seen in the vicinity either.

We paddled from Porpoise Bay (south end of Inlet ) all the way up to Tzoonie Marine Park in the Narrows Inlet (have to look at the map on the link above). Chris worked out we went about 65km that weekend .Including a day trip on the middle day. Not bad for a newbie hamster. Paddling in a double is WAY easier than 2 singles .(plus i can rest a bit and C can keep paddling hehehehe)

yum yum
tent by candlelight......this way Mr Bear.....
